Thank you for an inspiring and truly memorable day.’* Puppetry & Automata – Two-day course This two-day course provides a guided tour of Forkbeard’s astonishing array of giant marionettes, sculptural costumes, mechanised peep show boxes and props will illustrate the inspirational range of possibilities in this area. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with different techniques and materials and construct their own creation under the expert guidance of the company’s artists. Who will run the courses:
Chris Britton is one of the principal performers and writers of the work but also a maker of film installations, specializing in creating interaction sequences for live performance. Tim Britton, also a performer and film-maker, is the main scriptwriter and cartoonist and animator in the Company. Penny Saunders specialises in constructing mechanical sets, puppets and costumes, as well as working ‘living’ electronic installations and creatures for the exhibitions. She is the set-designer, co-writer and lighting designer for Forkbeard’s theatre shows. Ed Jobling, another performer, specializes in film projection and sound and provides technical support to the project Robin Thorburn is an experienced lighting designer, cameraman and editor, and has long experience in production, lighting and photography, digital and 16 mm post-production for Forkbeard shows.
