This exhibition encapsulates some of the visual highlights from FORKBEARD FANTASY's touring theatre shows, films, and cartoons from their beginnings 25 years ago right up to the present day. Many of the contraptions, sculptures, people, creatures are mechanical, string operated or activated by switches, buttons, pressure mats or the occasional proximity sensor. There are demonstration models, peep-shows, 16mm film loops and a couple of videos to be watched. The bulk of the creations were made for and featured in FORKBEARD's touring stage shows. Most of them were 'living' parts of these shows in that they worked and moved within the set. In many cases they were characters in their own right. |
