EDUCATION & WORKSHOPS

FF have always run workshops and residencies as an integral part of the yearly programme. They are inextricably connected to and inspire and inform our artistic output.

The focus for participants is always on their own creativity and imagination and the creative process, not the 'masterclass' approach.

Residencies have lasted anything up to 3 weeks ; a workshop can be a mere 2 hours.

There are two loose categories that this area of work covers
"Animated Construction" and "Film Interaction & Animation"

ANIMATED CONSTRUCTIONS
These might be sculptural exhibits which can be animated via a myriad of different methods; puppets which are worn as costumes or manipulated by an external operative; or walk-through environments.

FILM INTERACTION & ANIMATION
This might be devising a short film sequence which is to be interacted with; building model sets and gadgetry; rolling scenery devices; 2D and 3D makeup; live performance animation (pixillation); claymation; 2D drawing and painting, and many more techniques and examples.

In the following pages we hope to give you a glimpse into what you might expect if you were to attend one of our workshops.
